New Names for <I>Loxoconcha</I> and <I>Semicytherura</I> Species from the Quilon Beds of Kerala

Abstract

It has been brought to our notice by Professor E. K. Kempf, Federal Republic of Germany that the names of two new ostracode species - Loxoconcha (Loxoconclra) subalata and Semicytherura indica - recently described by us (Khosla and Nagori, 1989, pp. 46-47, 50) are preoccupied by Loxoconcha subalata Brady, 1911 and Semicytherura indica Neale and Singh, 1985, respectively. As both our names are primary junior homonyms they are rejected and replaced by Loxoconcha (Loxoconchas) keralaensis Khosla and Nagori, and Semicytherura padappakkaraensis Khosla aad Nagori.
