Dr. H. M. Ramachandra

It is with great sadness that we announce the demise of Dr. H.M. Ramachandra, Director (Retd.) of the Geological Survey of India, Bengaluru, and a respected Life Fellow of the Geological Society of India. Dr. Ramachandra passed away at 3:00 pm on April 17, 2024, after a prolonged battle with cancer. Dr. Ramachandra was a renowned geologist with a deep passion and vast knowledge of Earth Science. He recently authored a book on the Geology of Chhattisgarh, which was published by the Geological Society of India. At the time of his passing, he finalized the manuscript for his second book on the Geology of Madhya Pradesh, which was also intended to be published by the Society. He is survived by his wife, Smt. Seetha, and daughter, Seema. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Dr. Ramachandra will be remembered for his significant contributions to the field of geology, and he will be greatly missed. May his soul rest in peace.
