This Memorial Lecture was instituted in the name of V.V.Sastri, General Manager (Exploration), ONGC, Dehra Dun, by his brother Dr.Krishna Vavilala.The lectureis arranged once in two years during AGM of the Society in any field of Geoscience Research related to Explorationfor Hydrocarbons - Sedimentation, Sequence and Biostratigraphy, Tectonic basins / Analysis, Structural Geology, Geophysics, etc.,once in two years.
